Abstract

Present work is aimed to compare effective dose in MDCT abdomen using automatic exposure control for patients with different body habitus. Dose received by the patient also depends on the anatomical variations and size of the patient. The study is designed to evaluate influence of body mass index on effective dose while performing MDCT abdomen, using AEC.

Approval of institutional research committee and institutional ethical committee is obtained. The patients are categorized in three groups according to their BMI, they are healthy weight, overweight and obese. The mean effective dose to be calculated for three groups.
