Abstract

Pandysautonomia is an idiopathic, acute, or subacute autoimmune neuropathy, which diffusely affects the autonomic nervous system. A previously healthy 39-year-old woman, presented with a history of giddiness, pushing to one side while walking, and slurring of speech, and was diagnosed with pandysautonomia. Antibodies to gAChR (nicotinic acetylcholine receptors) in the serum of the patient were tested and the report was negative. The patient was treated with steroids and symptomatically and recovered within two weeks. Initially, the patient was symptomatically managed with medications as the diagnosis was not confirmed. Hence, she had to undergo many investigations to confirm the diagnosis. Mainly, the patient was complaining of blurred vision, and she could see the multiplied image of a person.
