Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Globally, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) continue to be the primary cause of death and healthcare costs despite significant advancements in treatment effectiveness. The majority of deaths related to CVDs are highly common in countries with middle and low incomes. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of mobile health interventions on cardiovascular health among young adults. Method: A Search will be conducted using PICO format. Primary studies will be searched through electronic databases: Scopus, PubMed (MEDLINE), Web of Science, ProQuest, Embase and CINAHL(Ebsco). The review will only include studies conducted between January 2010 to July 2024 in English. Two authors will independently review the titles and abstracts of the papers to determine eligibility and eliminate duplicates. The possibly eligible studies will be subjected to a full-text article screening. Two reviewers will retrieve the full-text papers and decide whether to include them in the review. If there is any conflict between the selection process between two reviewers, then the results from independent reviewers will be sent to a third reviewer for final agreement. Result: Studies will be scrutinized for design, setting, sample size, sampling technique, data collection and analysis, and outcomes. A quantitative synthesis of the data will be done to summarize the findings from the studies included. Reporting will be done using PRISMA guidelines. Conclusion: This systematic review targets young adults, a vulnerable group prone to risky habits, to promote cardiovascular health (CVH) and awareness. The findings aim to support optimal CVH in later life and contribute to achieving SDG 3.
