Abstract

Nanomedicine, an emerging discipline, integrates nanotechnology with pharmaceutical and biomedical science to develop new drugs and imaging compounds with improved efficacy and safety profiles. One of the most important aspects of this field is the creation of new nano-drug delivery systems (NDDS), which harness the power of nanomaterials to bypass such conventional limitations as poor solubility and instability. One form of NDDS, micelles, have been identified as a viable option, providing a safe and effective means of encapsulating hydrophobic natural products. Self-assembling amphiphilic block copolymers, micelles form a core-shell structure that shields the encapsulated drug from degradation while allowing controlled release. The distinctive characteristics of micelles make it possible for them to modify drug distribution in the body, leading to enhanced therapeutic efficacy. Based on their promise to optimize solubility, release, and targeting, micelles are investigated for various pharmaceutical uses. This abstract summarizes the concept of nanomedicine, micelle design and preparation, and their properties, identifying their potential as game-changer in drug delivery.
