Abstract
China will carefully seek to capitalize on the US exit from Afghanistan and the Taliban taking control over the country to expand its interests in the region. However, the Uyghur issue, though underplayed by the Taliban currently, may become significant with China's intensification of its BRI diplomacy in Afghanistan.
