Abstract
External jugular vein (EJV) is a large superficial vein and is often used by the clinicians for many therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. Variant formation course and morphology of EJV essentially seeks attention from the clinician. During routine dissection procedure, it was observed that the EJV was formed by the union of common facial vein and posterior division of retro-mandibular vein. Posterior auricular vein drained into the EJV. This type of vascular variation stands to be enlightening cardiologists, head and neck surgeons and radiologists.
