Abstract

Here we report a draft genome sequence of Burkholderia pseudomallei strain CM000152, isolated from a melioidosis patient in India. This bacterium is a Gram-negative, saprophytic flagellate that can form biofilms. QIAamp® DNA Mini Kit (Qiagen, Chadstone, Victoria, Australia) was used to isolate genomic DNA from B. pseudomallei strain CM000152. It was further sequenced using the Illumina Hiseq 2500 platform (Illumina, Inc., San Diego, CA) to generate paired-end fragments (2 × 150 PE reads), producing 7146,272 reads at 284x coverage. We identified 246 contigs containing 300 base pairs with L50 of 36 and N50 of 67,418. CM000152 genome contains 7542,791 base pairs, with 67.71 % GC content. Gene prediction is performed using Prokka v.1.14.6. There are 7829 coding sequences in the sequenced DNA, followed by 74 genes coding tRNA and 2 coding rRNA. This project has been deposited under the NCBI Bioproject accession number PRJNA1190241.
