Abstract

Indazole-derived heterocycles have garnered significant attention in recent years due to their versatile chemical structures and wide-ranging biological activities. This review explores the recent progress in the synthesis of indazole-based heterocycles, highlighting innovative strategies for their preparation and modification. The different strategies employed for constructing attractive indazole scaffolds is promising in opening broader perspectives for future research in synthetic chemistry. Their therapeutic impact has attracted many toward indazole-based medicinal chemistry research. Indazole-derived heterocycles have contributed a lot for the pharmacological dimensions including anticancer, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and neuroprotective effects. The discussion on the in-depth analysis of the latest advancements in synthetic methods, including green chemistry approaches, metal-catalyzed reactions, and novel functionalization techniques is noteworthy in understanding the classic chemistry playing behind superficial organic hybrids. By examining both the synthetic challenges and the therapeutic opportunities associated with indazole heterocycles, this review offers a comprehensive overview of their current status and future directions in medicinal chemistry.
