Abstract
Study Background: The research presented titled “ Impact of entrepreneurship development programmes on economic aspects of trainees: Evidence from training centres in India ” by Dr.Santhosha Shetty G, Dr.Vikram Baliga, Dr.Mathew Thomas Gil, Mr.Ren Trevor Dias & Dr.Sandeep S. Shenoy is centred on measuring the impact of entrepreneurship development programs (EDPs) on economic aspects of trainees of Rural Development and Self-employment Training Institutes ( RUDSETIs) . The measurement of impact aims to create high impact on prospective trainees who will be attending future entrepreneurship development programs based on level of impact measured through study in terms of high, moderate or low impact.
Research Goals and Hypotheses: The primary goal is to measure the impact of EDPs on economic aspects of trainees of RUDSETIs.
Methodological Approach:
- The questionnaire was used as a suitable research instrument for data collection from trainees attended EDPs.
- Kruskal Wallis test was used to measure the difference in impact among the trainees of Agricultural, Product, Process and General EDPs
- One-sample t-test was used to measure the impact of EDPs on economic aspects of trainees
Results and Discoveries:
- Overall impact on economic aspects of trainees of agricultural EDPs was 2.53+.14, product EDPs was 2.50+.16, process EDPs was 2.52+.18 and general EDPs was 2.53+.15 shows that there is high impact on economic aspects of trainees and there is no significant difference among the trainees of different EDPs with respect to overall impact on economic aspects of trainees, p = 0.758 >0.05.
- Statistical test shows that impact on economic aspects of trainees is significantly higher (when compared to score 2 which is “No Change” with respect to impact), p-value for all the EDPs equal to .000<0.01. So the hypothesis “There is no significant association between entrepreneurship development programs and its impact on economic aspects of trainees” is rejected.
