Abstract
The review titled “Dopaminergic signaling as a Plausible Modulator of Astrocytic Toll-Like Receptor 4: A Crosstalk between Neuroinflammation and Cognition” discusses the role of neuroinflammation in the development of AD. Even though microglia are activated during inflammation, significantly less is explained regarding the role of astrocytes in neuroinflammation. In the astrocytes, reactive astrocytes, particularly A1 astrocytes, are implicated in neuroinflammation, whereas A2 astrocytes exhibit neuroprotective effects. The cognitive effects of dopamine in the context of neuroinflammation have also been discussed. Recently, researchers have discovered the importance of Toll-Like Receptor 4 in modulating neuroinflammation. Thus, we decided to conduct a review focused on a specific neuroglia, astrocytes, stimulating the receptor Toll-Like Receptor 4 and how they interact with Dopaminergic signaling, contributing to neuroinflammation and cognition.
