Modeling and simulations of solar cells toward performance improvement
Document Type
News Article
Abstract
The modeling and simulation platform provides a firsthand idea of the performance of solar cells. Solar cells which are experimentally reported can be further investigated to understand the performance limiting factors. The modeling results can be used to investigate any structural modifications possible to further improve the performance. The single junction and tandem solar cell configurations can be modeled and investigated. Using novel techniques, including nanostructures, interdigitated back contact (IBC), and grating for the light-harvesting, can be investigated to drive the power conversion efficiency towards the SQ limit.
