LIGHTING CONTROLS: TECHNOLOGY AND APPLICATION
I am working on daylight-artificial light integration focusing on lighting and shading/glazing control, optimizing visual comfort, thermal comfort, energy savings and health. A test workbench and proof of concept prototype for lighting and shading/ switchable glazing control scheme are developed. Developed fuzzy logic-based and intelligent ensemble learning technique to evolve control strategy for shading control and adaptive control of luminaires for setting the required illuminance with reduced load on Air- conditioning system. The test workbench is established on the LABVIEW and MATLAB platforms and implemented on a standalone reconfigurable embedded Wi-Fi-enabled industry-standard myRIO. This project also focused on image-based wireless networked lighting control in the daylight-artificial light integrated scheme. Currently focusing on spectral tuning and control of LED luminaire for Circadian entrainment and health along with visual comfort, thermal comfort, and energy savings. Now working on establishing digital twin technology for daylight -artificial light integrated scheme using the above experience.
