Vedam-2024: Vedam is the student-organized undergraduate medical conference and academic fest of Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal. This year served as the second edition for this conference, hosting a remarkable 415 participants and over 200 presentations, by delegates from all across the country. This Premier Medical Conference showcased an impressive array of academic student club-based vents, drawing enthusiastic participation from medical students and professionals. The Student Research Forum (SRF) fostered scientific inquiry and clinical excellence with its Case and Research Presentations. Several clubs contributed engaging workshops and gamified academic competitions to foster knowledge through enjoyment in learning. Tempus Pretioso, the Emergency Medicine Club, hosted ‘Realm of Remedies’, a gamified event applying EM knowledge through various realms of fantasy, where speed meets critical thinking; additionally, the club held the workshop and ‘EM Odyssey’ taking medical students through essential EM Skills such as ACLS, Basic Airway Management and Field Spine and Wound Management. Similarly, Justitia, the Forensic Medicine Club intrigued participants with a ‘Murder Mystery Dinner’, the event where participants must use the knowledge of forensic medicine, criminology, and toxicology to solve the mysterious death at the dinner; ‘Death Dissected’ was the workshop held where various autopsy dissection techniques are taught and practiced using cadaveric dissection. Cutting Edge, the Surgical Club energized the crowd with ‘Treasure Hunt’, the game of speed and surgical knowledge where only the fastest and most intuitive win. ‘Patch Perfect’ served as the workshop, teaching and giving hands-on experience in skin grafting. Incandescent, the Innovation Club, also fostered the entrepreneurial spirit with ‘Eureka 2.0’, the medical Hackathon. Finally, The International Quiz of Medical Undergraduates(IQMU) is KMC’s very own student-organized quiz, testing medical knowledge in a competitive environment, through creative rounds assessing the knowledge and skills needed to be a well-rounded physician. The conference's highlight was a keynote speech delivered by Dr. Vivek Pandey, Professor and Unit Department of Orthopaedics at KMC Manipal, leading the division of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy inspiring attendees with his insights into the past, present, and future of healthcare. With over --- participants, Vedam 2024 was a resounding success, promoting medical education, collaboration, and innovation.
