Abstract

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a major critical care condition with higher mortality rate and economic burden. Early detection and proper treatment are found to be effective in management of ARDS. As there is a dearth of information on the cost-effectiveness analysis of corticosteroids in ARDS worldwide, we aimed to perform the cost-effectiveness analysis of corticosteroids in ARDS. Additionally, this study also aimed to explore the role of complement component 5a (C5a) on prediction and outcome of ARDS and to identify the risk factors associated with ARDS in a large population.
