Abstract
Pharmaceutical sector is governed by various regulations pertaining to safety, efficacy and quality of the drugs. Regulation of Pharmaceuticals extend to the related aspects, viz., Price Control, Supply Chain Regulations, Pharmacoeconomics, Medical Devices. Pharmaceutical companies strive continuously to comply with regulations. Moreover, there are price restriction over the drugs. Previously the drugs under price control were less. However, they have been increased and linked to the National List of Essential Medicines. Studies pertaining to Drug Regulations have been of importance and gave rise to establish guidelines and implement policies. There are ample areas to work on as the drug regulations are said to be continuously evolving. There are also opportunities to work on the products viz., Cosmetics, Cosmeceuticals, Nutrition/Dietary Supplements, Nutraceuticals, functional foods etc.
