Abstract

Study Background: The case report presented titled ‘Unique case of duplex interventricular branching from the left coronary artery’ by Dr. Rajanigandha Vadgaonkar et al. is a rare anatomical variation of the left coronary artery, which was observed in a female embalmed cadaver, where in the heart was supplied by double anterior and posterior interventricular arteries.

Research Goals and Hypotheses: The deceased might have lived without symptoms in her life. A prior knowledge of this kind of variation will be very much informative to the interventional cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeons. It has implications for the coronary angiogram and subsequent management of the coronary artery disease.

Methodological Approach: Cadaveric Dissection

Results and Discoveries: These were branches arising from the left coronary artery and the distribution of right coronary artery was very limited in this case.
